A new housing development in Molescroft of the edge of the historic town of Beverley required a new medical practice to serve the community. The original practice building was developed in close cooperation with the two doctors who set up the practice. The surgery was designed to be as user friendly as possible. The waiting are had sufficient space to allow for buggies and mobility scooters and had a large glazed area to admit as much light as possible into the space.
Where possible recycled materials were used. For example doors and sanitary wear were reused from a redundant hospital about to be demolished.
Particular attention was paid to using materials and finishes that were recycleable, had a low or no VOC content and were easily maintained.
The surgery has become a focus for the community and we are pleased to continue our association with the surgery as it develops
