Ella Street House, Hull

Ella Street, Hull in the main cosists of terrace houses. However there are openings along the street that break up the street frontage. The Ella Street House project was to design a house to sit on one of the open spaces along the street. The plot is slightly narrower than a conventional house so an innovative use of space was required to form a 3 bedroom house on the site.

Bedrooms are located on the ground floor and the main living area is situated on the first floor. The main living area is open plan so as to make the best use of the space available.

The Ella Street facade was designed to maintain the rythmn of the street, refelect the design and construction of its neighbours but offer a modern contribution to the streetscape.
